Ingredients to make Garlic Parmesan Wings
Let’s start by gathering the ingredients we need to make my Crispy Garlic Parmesan Wings recipe. In Chef Speak, this is called the Mise en Place, which translates into Everything in its Place.
Not only does setting your ingredients up ahead of time speed the cooking process, but it also helps ensure you have everything you need to make the dish.
How to make Garlic Parmesan Wings
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. and place a rack in the middle of the oven.
- Add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to a small bowl.
- Mix to combine the seasoning blend.
*If you’re a fan of heat, add a little cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the seasoning blend.
- Add the butter to a small pan over low heat to melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped parsley to the melted butter.
- Stir to mix the garlic butter.
- Let the mixture cook over low heat for 3-4 minutes or until the garlic is fragrant. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside until needed.
*Don’t let the garlic brown or burn.
*Fresh garlic and fresh parsley are key to making these parmesan garlic wings. Don’t substitute dried seasonings.
- Split the wings into drummettes and wingettes, saving the wing tips for stock. Then, pat the wing parts dry with paper towels.
- Place the wings in a single layer on a wire rack over a baking sheet or directly on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- Season both sides of the wings with the seasoning mixture. Then drizzle olive oil over the wings.
- Place the pan on the center rack of the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the wings from the oven. Pour the garlic butter sauce over them, then add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
- Place the pan back in the oven and bake for 5 minutes or until the wings become golden brown and crispy.
The garlic parmesan flavor of these wings is guaranteed to make them a family favorite. Serve them with blue cheese dressing, ranch dressing, or your favorite dipping sauce.
To elevate the flavor of these delicious wings, add a drizzle of buffalo sauce or your favorite hot sauce.
Any leftover wings should be stored refrigerated in an airtight container for 3-4 days. To reheat, place them on a sheet pan and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
Recipe FAQ’s
Yes, you can. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F. When hot add a single layer of wings (making sure not to overcrowd the basket). Bake for 16-22 minutes depending on their size, flipping the wings halfway through the process.
Drying the wings with paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible will help them cook up crispy.
To make them extra crispy, toss them in baking powder before seasoning.
Broiling the wings for a few minutes after baking will also help make them extra crispy.
